Showing and selling our stationery line at NSS was a blast. We were overwhelmed with what a supportive industry we're in, and we met so many amazing makers, shoppists and industry leaders.
Being a new face at the show, we spent the majority of our time answering all kinds of questions. For those of you who weren't able to visit in person, we thought a run-down of some of our most frequently asked questions and answers would be illuminating.
So here we go!
How long have you been showing at NSS?
This was our very first time showing at NSS! While our textile studio, Printfresh Studio, has been in business for over 10 years, our stationery line is brand new. And we were so happy to hit the ground running at such an amazing venue!
Can I just buy this now and take it with me?
Many people walking through our booth really wanted to purchase and take product with them that day. And we were so excited that everyone was into what we were showing! Unfortunately, everything we had with us had to stay with us - these were some of our first samples, and they'll have to come with us to the next big gifts shows like the Atlanta show and NYNow. However, that won’t be the case for long! Our latest line ships to stores early September 2017 - stay turned for the big reveal.
Where do you make your products?
All our products are designed in our studio in Philadelphia, PA. We spent a long time searching for the right manufactures for our products, which use lots of special and complex fabric finishes like velvet, foiling, marbling and debossing - after lots of sampling, we finally decided on two different manufacturers that make really amazingly beautiful things. One is based in India and other is based in China.
What’s your story?
Amy Voloshin created Printfresh stationery to fulfill her desire for a beautiful bohemian notebook. When she was unable to find one that fit in alongside the global patterns that she loves to wear and surround herself with, she decided to create a product line that mixes her textile design studio’s patterns and the antique textiles she picks up in her travels. The result is Printfresh- a stylish stationery line.
In 2017, Amy also launched Voloshin, a fashion line that reflects Amy's personal aesthetic and desire for comfort and subtle luxury. Worn by those who seek to live a meaningful and fulfilled life but are not afraid to make a statement. You can find out more about Voloshin on our website - voloshin.us.
The design of our booth made quite an impact and many people asked us about what inspired the look.
We really wanted our booth to feel bohemian and inviting, just like our stationery line. We wanted to give the feeling that you had just walked into your favorite bohemian boutique. We laid a vintage kilim rug in the middle of our booth to warm up the cement floor of the venue and used rattan furniture pieces to create a sense of comfort and ease. Keeping the walls of our booth clean and white helped to create a light airy feel and keep our tactile products as the star of our booth. We also hung house plants in macrame holders to really bring the booth to life.
How do I stock your products in my shop? Can you email me the catalog?
We are happy to send any interested stockists a digital catalog - please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
Are you selling the mini notebooks? (the giveaway notebooks) (starting the # for the notebooks)
Our mini notebooks, seen in the image above, were very popular and were our free give away to anyone that stopped by. We also added these little guys to our raffle box of goodies.
Because these were so popular we are considering adding this to the permanent line. What do you guys think, are these pocket notebooks something you would love to draw or write in on the go?
