Behind the Printfresh Holiday Catalog

When brainstorming ideas for the best holiday catalog locations, our Printfresh Art Director Barb and I immediately knew we wanted spaces that were able to tell different stories. From gift giving and winter getaways, to matching moments, there were plenty of stories we needed to convey throughout these pages. 

So many of the holiday-focused prints really encapsulate the feeling of a chic chalet vacation (especially our Hit the Slopes print). The idea of getting away to someplace special and creating memories with friends felt oh-so joyful. So when looking for a location that really captured this vibe, I immediately thought of reaching out to Chad and Courtney from the Lokal. They have some of the best rental properties in the area, including their A-frame cabin in New Jersey where we shot at. I love partnering with local creators and innovators like them, so this destination was especially amazing. We usually photograph far in advance of launches, so as amazing as a snowy landscape would have been, the A-frame was perfect for capturing the essence of a cozy winter getaway. 

The second location you’ll see in the catalog is Guild House Hotel in Philadelphia, the ideal backdrop for our first ever Luxe collection. This is one my absolute favorite spots in the city for a true lavish and over the top look. The ever talented Kate Rohrer did the interior design for Guild House and it’s just so stunning. Her spaces are such beautiful collections of objects, antiques and patterns with every area done incredibly intentionally. I would love to collaborate with her on something one day! 

Finally, our family pajama photos were taken at our Printfresh studio. Different teammates brought their loved ones in (including dogs for bandana shots!) for some adorable matching moments. 

Our shoots are always so much fun! We work with a great team that brings a lot of energy. It can feel a bit silly shooting for the holidays in the summer, especially at the A-frame when we were so close to the beach and ended the day by going out for ice cream. Seasonality was also tricky when our prop stylist had to make a special trip to a NYC resource to acquire a holiday wreath and greenery so it could be used on set for decoration! We capitalized on the woodsy vibes and played off the colors and patterns of our pajamas. It felt effortless to add in fun accessories like snow boots, cozy hats and everyone’s favorite accessory on set, the super cool log holder. You’ll also spot some delicious looking cinnamon rolls that we used for the kitchen photos (and then enjoyed later). 

The luxe photoshoot featured equally luxe accessories like colored glassware, candlesticks, champagne, a yummy sushi spread and of course, some gorgeous Printfresh pieces. Pairing the satin and velvet with the amazing velvet slippers and eye masks elevated the photos even more. Everyone loves how they turned out!

The holiday catalog definitely puts us all in the mood to want to plan our own winter vacay. Printfresh pajamas can be a catalyst for picking the perfect destination and vibe you want to go for! I love the idea of packing your Hit the Slopes flannel pjs or our Buffalo Plaid organic cotton styles and jet setting off to a snowy oasis in the mountains. I’m big on ski resorts (more on that here), so I’d love nothing more than an adventurous escape with my family. Of course, I enjoy downtime in the evening where I can cozy up with kids in front of a roaring fireplace and sip on hot chocolate. When planning a trip like this it’s important to make sure you’re plotting out a well-rounded schedule of both activities and relaxation.  

A print like Pop the Bubbly on the other hand, really inspires me to plan a city trip with my girlfriends. This is such a fun and celebratory style, I think it would be perfect for a weekend in NYC, or perhaps somewhere warmer like Nashville or Miami. I think when planning a trip with friends (especially if you need to fly), it’s imperative to determine everyone’s budget first so all are aligned on expectations.  

No matter where your travels take you or who you are with, I hope this winter and holiday season is filled with making memories with those you love! And, as always, that you have the perfect Printfresh pajamas in-town.
