Behind the Design | Cats & Christmas Trees
It’s obvious by now that we love creating prints that feature cats and dogs, and try to include a couple with each new collection. In addition to offering a new colorway of our beloved Happy Howlidays print, we loved the idea of introducing Christmas house cats to the mix. I’m a certified cat lady (I have two boys at home, a skinny orange tabby named Howl and a chubby black-and-white tuxedo named Tomas), so I’m always trying to slip a cat print into every collection. In my experience, cats and holiday decorations can prove to be a hilarious mix, and I loved the idea of featuring patterned foliage Christmas trees with little cats creating mischief all around.
Inspired By Real Life Pets
Some of the cats in this print are definitely inspired by kitties I know and love! My own cat Howl is sitting on top of a bent-over tree, munching away on a Christmas ball. My mom’s fluffy cat Daisy is nestled under one of the fallen trees. And my dear friend’s grey cat Fiona has her back to us as she climbs up in search of the star tree topper. I wanted to make sure there was a good variety of colors and markings, so more people can find their own cats in this print. I always love seeing photos of Freshies wearing our animal pajamas and showing off their own companions. It makes me feel even more connected to our community!

Sweet Cream & Twinkling Blue | Two Colors for Our Flannel Pajamas
This print was definitely a fan-favorite in our office, so we decided to offer two different colorways with this collection. We found that the scenery popped more on the lighter colored grounds, and liked the contrast between the classic greens and reds of Twinkling Blue and the more feminine pink pops of Sweet Cream. I love adding a print mixing element to some of our collection to add a little more visual interest and pop of color other than just the contrast piping alone. I tried a few different prints for the coordinate here, and landed on this pretty star that matches back to the tree toppers, but is also simple and graphic enough not to compete with the main print.

Frisky Firs is designed on our signature lightweight organic flannel. We love this flannel so much because although it’s plenty cozy for those colder months, it’s light enough that you won’t get too hot when sleeping. The Long PJ Set is a classic silhouette and perfect in this print as it features the super cute star sleeves and pant cuffs. The Robe comes in the Twinkling Blue hue which has been my personal favorite (I’ve been wearing since it came out!). And for the rest of the family, we’re offering the Men’s PJ Pants as well as a Pet Bandana so everyone can match!
