Where to Stay in Eleuthera, Bahamas?

We went to Eleuthera which is known for its ‘picture perfect beaches.’ We stayed in an adorable airbnb that was right by Rainbow Bay Beach. For more convenience (I'll touch on this later), I’d recommend an Eleuthera resort like French Leave

What Activities To Do and See in the Bahamas?

During our trip we took a boat across to Harbour Island for the day. It’s an adorable island known for its gorgeous cottages and pink sand beaches. It was so fun to rent a golf cart and explore the island by wheels! We also journeyed out to Lighthouse Beach, it’s a bit of a hike but worth it once you climb to the top and experience the beautiful views. There are some tremendous sights on the island as well. I’d recommend checking out Hidden Beach, Rainbow Bay Beach, Twin Coves Beach and Cathedral Cave.

Where to Eat in the Bahamas?

There are very few options on Eleuthera itself and grocery shopping is very limited. So out of convenience, I would recommend staying at a resort like French Leave to have food options so close and not have to drive too much, especially since the road can be challenging at night. For other food and drink options, Coco + Cream was an adorable ice cream spot in Eleuthera that everyone enjoyed. Da Vine Wine Merchants on Harbour Island was fantastic, it also doubles as a sushi restaurant! Another great place for dining is Pink Sands Resort as well as Acquapazza Wine Bar & Ristorante, both on Harbour Island.

Where to Shop in the Bahamas?

Harbour Island had some great shopping that I was so pleased to get to. Owned by the esteemed lifestyle and design extraordinaire India Hicks, The Sugar Mill was a fabulous destination for clothing, jewelry and collectibles. Dake’s Shoppe was an incredibly special boutique and Blue Rooster was super cute and perfect for a great vacation outfit. Stop into Shine for gorgeous handmade jewelry and resort wear full of color and pattern. I’d recommend popping into Princess Street Gallery to check out tropical art inspired by the island. Unfortunately I didn’t get to make it this trip but would love to check out Bahama Hand Prints for all locally sewn apparel and home decor.

What are Some Packing Tips for the Bahamas?

It was very warm, so I would recommend bringing lightweight cotton dresses. I packed a bunch from our spring collection to wear and really enjoyed wearing the bright colors alongside the turquoise waters. A hat is a necessity and a caftan can be helpful if it’s buggy. Oh, and be sure to pack lots of sunblock and bug spray!

Any Other Tips for Traveling to the Bahamas?

I think a fantastic way to get to the islands is to take a catamaran around to enjoy a different viewpoint - I’d love to do that with the kids, and some of our friends. It would be such a memorable experience.
