Greetings from India | A Look Inside Our Printfresh Trip With Molly
Walk us through your role at Printfresh!
As the Senior Product & Design Coordinator, my main responsibility is to see product through the entire lifecycle, from concept to production, to ensure the designs are executed as intended and at the highest quality. I work closely with our design team to execute new ideas, research new product categories. and act as the liaison between our team in the office and our team overseas! My job is to make sure every little detail in the design process is captured, communicated, and executed.
Can you give a brief overall of the trip and what you and Amy wanted to accomplish during your time in India?
As a team we travel to India twice a year to tour our factories and to work on new designs. We visited New Delhi and Jaipur for business, and then Mumbai for fun! This trip we focused primarily on apparel, getting the fits right on all styles from Summer 2025 through Fall 2025.
What kind of work did you do?
We spend a lot of time in collaborative meetings with our design and production teams in India! We will spend time talking over fits and making tweaks so everything is perfect. The tailors will make the changes right away so we can see adjustments in real time! Then, the factory team shares new fabrics, trims and techniques that we may like. Overall it is a very collaborative process and we truly accomplish so much. We also spent some time with the team that cuts each piece of pajamas, learning how they place each pocket, cut each loose thread, and sew each button. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is really special!
Who did you meet with while in India?
We met with the owners of the factories, pattern makers, designers, and production managers. We also spent time on the factory floor, working with the people who make our garments. It is important to me to understand how each garment is made at every step, so I can make sure our customers always get the very best.
What were some highlights from the trip?
The food!! We ate at some amazing restaurants. Burma Burma in Mumbai was my favorite. But we also had some incredible home cooked meals with friends. Also learning how to silkscreen our prints was so fun! It requires a lot of skill to have perfectly seamless prints but the artisans make it look so easy.
Any fun facts, or cool places you loved visiting?
The National Crafts Museum in New Delhi was beautiful and so inspiring. India’s deep textile history is awe-inspiring as a lover of fashion, design and art. And Jaipur is truly a magical city; the desert sunset can’t be beat.
Any sneak peaks you can share about some fun products you saw?
Believe it or not we started working on some really fun jackets for Holiday 2025! Satin and Velvet anyone?!
