Sincerely, Amy | Community Building & New Friends
As I gear up for another busy month filled with travel and creative projects, I’m reflecting on the power of community and the importance of carving out time for inspiration and personal growth. See what I've been up to in this month's Sincerely, Amy.
This past month has been incredibly busy with some special networking events. I was fortunate enough to experience my first New England Coastal Creative Summit in Connecticut. Founder of NECC Kim Thomas and the team put together such an amazing few days full of panels, workshops, and community-building. I loved getting to know fellow designers, influencers, and entrepreneurs all across the North East. This past holiday season Printfresh did a collaboration with Beth Ladd so it was great to finally meet her in person! One of the workshops that was surprisingly interesting covered stress management, the value of seasonal rhythms for wellness, and setting boundaries to combat busy culture and prolonged stress. Julia Dzafic from Lemon Stripes moderated a great panel with some expert practitioners who work with patients dealing with stress and burnout.
After NECC, I attended The Southern C’s annual conference in Sea Island Georgia with our Printfresh Publicist Patricia. It was lovely connecting with fellow Southern C members and seeing everyone in person. We have weekly video calls that act as great ways to learn more about cool businesses and get tips on growing your brand. It’s such a fun group. I’m always blown away by how open and supportive everyone is! We love to share advice, shout each other out on social, and wear each other's designs. I tend to be a more introverted person, so getting out there and making new connections and friends is so important. It’s been so rewarding to meet all these designers and artists that I admire so much as we grow together.
Though January was a whirlwind, February doesn’t show any signs of slowing down! I’ll be in NY during Fashion Week, Nashville for a quick inspiration trip, and Los Angeles for a photoshoot. Their industry really needs support so it was important to us to shoot creative there now more than ever. On top of work-related events, I’ve been enjoying some downtime with creative projects like playing with hand-lettering. I did a workshop with Betty Soldi and have since loved incorporating it into my journaling and sketching. It's always nice to slow down and appreciate these quiet moments.
Sincerely,
Amy
