Printfresh x The Foggy Dog: Meet the Collaboration
We’re so excited to share a collaboration that’s close to our hearts (and our pets!). This joyful partnership with The Foggy Dog brings together two brands who believe in bold prints, thoughtful design, and a whole lot of personality. From the very beginning, we knew this would be something special — and I can’t wait to tell you about the collection with The Foggy Dog Founder, Rose Shattuck.
We’ve always admired The Foggy Dog — their whimsical prints and incredible quality really resonate with us. Since our Printfresh community is full of pet lovers, it felt like such a natural fit! When we met Rose, The Foggy Dog’s founder, at a conference, we quickly realized how much we had in common — from our approach to entrepreneurship to our shared love of vibrant design. Teaming up just felt meant to be! We wanted to create something that felt both playful and practical — something that would bring a little extra joy to both pets and their people. The Foggy Dog’s focus on thoughtful details and high-quality materials made them the perfect partner. I’ve always been a huge fan of our Flock of Flamingos print, so I was thrilled to see it reimagined in these adorable pink pet accessories. It’s so fun and perfect for spring!
I was so excited to chat with Rose about her brand, inspiration, and our collaboration process.
Amy: Can you talk about how you started The Foggy Dog?
Rose: When I was getting ready to bring home my goldendoodle, Utah, I realized there was a gap in the market for pet products that are not only functional but also beautiful. I set up a shop on Etsy just for fun, starting with dog beds and eventually branching out into collars, leashes, and accessories. Within three months, Anthropologie reached out and placed a wholesale order. That’s when I started to think that this could be a successful business, and I decided to dive in head first!
Amy: What inspires your designs and collections?
Rose: We launch around twelve collections a year and try to bring a fresh, cheerful, elevated, print-forward approach to each one. Much like Printfresh, we really lean into seasonal holidays because our customer wants to celebrate those moments with her dog—whether it's with an Easter bow tie, July 4th bandana, Christmas sweater or Valentine's Day toy. We love partnering with independent artists and like-minded brands (like Printfresh) to create fun limited-edition collections like this one.
Amy: Like Printfresh, The Foggy Dog prioritizes sustainability and philanthropy. Can you speak to some of these efforts and why they are essential to your brand?
Rose: Every 10 seconds, a dog enters a shelter in need of a home. Animal causes have been important to me ever since I was 12 years old, mailing a $15 check to the ASPCA every month. When I started The Foggy Dog, it was important that part of the business was giving back to help animals in need. That’s why we provide one pound of food to rescue shelters across the U.S. with every order placed. I’m thrilled to say that since we launched, we've donated over 500,000 pounds of food to shelters!
Amy: We first met at a conference and talks of a collaboration began! Can you chat about why you wanted to collaborate with Printfresh?
Rose: I feel like Printfresh and The Foggy Dog are kindred spirits: we're both maximalists who love pattern, color, and whimsical illustrations. When we began discussing a collaboration, we knew right away that matching mom-and-dog sets were a must—who wouldn't want a gorgeous pair of luxurious PJs to match their pup's accessories?? The collection launches just in time for Mother's Day (hint: these matching sets make the perfect gift for all the dog moms in your life!).
I was also excited to work with Printfresh because we are both family-owned businesses. A fun fact is that I wrote our business plan and launched www.thefoggydog.com when I was on maternity leave from having twins (because apparently I didn't have enough to do!). My daughters are now turning nine, and it’s been incredible and so fulfilling to see The Foggy Dog grow as they grow. The business has become a huge part of our family. Much like Amy and Leo, my husband now works for The Foggy Dog as well, and it’s been amazing to get to work with him every day. I’m really proud that my daughters get to see a female role model who is a founder and CEO, and they’re learning they can do anything they put their minds to.
Amy: Can you talk about the design and collaboration process when working with brands?
Rose: Whenever we collaborate with another brand on a limited-edition collection, our goal is to create a cohesive assortment of patterns and themes that best represent both brands. Our Printfresh x The Foggy Dog collab is no exception: we wanted to celebrate summer, so we chose prints featuring citrus, flamingos, and honeybees. We also made sure to include one of Printfresh's most-loved top sellers, their extra-fierce Tiger Queen pattern. In fact, working with Printfresh was one of the easiest collaborations we've ever done because I love everything your designer, Christiane Moore, creates—she's an incredibly talented artist!
Amy: What’s your favorite piece from the collaboration?
Rose: Like you, I am in love with the Flock of Flamingos print. It's so fun and vibrant and makes me want to immediately pack my bags for a tropical getaway.
