Sincerely, Amy | Women’s History Month Reflections
Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate creativity, resilience, and the incredible contributions of women in business and design. At Printfresh, our journey has always been about bold prints, artistic expression, and building a community where women uplift and inspire each other. As we welcome the transition from winter to spring, I’m reflecting on the power of collaboration, the beauty of craftsmanship, and the little moments of joy that shape our creative process in this month’s Sincerely, Amy.
When I started Printfresh, I wanted to create a brand that reflected my love for bold prints and beautiful textiles and fostered a space where creativity and craftsmanship could thrive. Being a woman-owned business means so much more than just a title—it’s about leading with intention, supporting other women in creative fields, and building a company that prioritizes community and collaboration. Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the women who have paved the way for us, but also to recognize the work still ahead in championing female entrepreneurship. So many women have inspired me throughout my career. I admire Diana Vreeland’s editorial eye and her love for the extraordinary, it has always resonated with me. I also deeply respect Sarah Wetenhall, the owner and CEO of The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. She has done an incredible job revitalizing this iconic hotel while preserving its rich history and infusing it with a fresh, modern sensibility. Under her leadership, The Colony has become a design-lover’s paradise, known for its signature pink façade, whimsical interiors, and deep appreciation for artistry.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see how Printfresh has grown so much while staying true to our values of artistic expression, sustainability, and empowerment. There’s something truly magical about working in a space filled with creative, passionate women. I’ve learned that collaboration and shared vision are powerful tools—when women uplift each other, incredible things happen. Our team brings such diverse perspectives, and it’s inspiring to see how everyone’s unique strengths come together to create something special. The energy in our studio is one of humorand finding quirky approaches to our work, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
When designing for women, I find inspiration everywhere—travel, vintage textiles, nature, and even the little moments in everyday life. It’s such a joy because I think of the Printfresh customer as someone who appreciates artistry, storytelling, and whimsy in her wardrobe. I often look to historical patterns, folk art, and botanical elements when creating new designs, making sure they feel both timeless and fresh. I imagine the feeling of slipping into something that’s not just comfortable but also makes you smile (or laugh) —something that sparks a little joy.
This month, I’m loving the feeling of transition between winter and spring—the light lingering a little longer (making my walks home feel like there’s more time in the day!), the first signs of blooming flowers. I’ve been revisiting some of my favorite books on design and textiles for inspiration (Patterns of India: A Journey Through Colors, Textiles, and the Vibrancy of Rajasthan; Diana Vreeland Memos: The Vogue Years; de Gournay: Hand-Painted Interiors; Jaipur Splendor; Sar: The Essence of Indian Design; and the World of Urban Sketching are some of my favorites!). I’m also obsessed with finding the perfect spring layering pieces (because even though I’m dreaming of warm weather, it’s still chilly!). How about you? What have you been up to to get you excited for spring?
Sincerely, Amy
