Printfresh Team’s Favorite Fall Traditions
Lynzi (Editorial Copywriter)
Fall has always been my favorite time of the year, I’m a huge fan of anything Halloween related. As simple as it sounds, my go-to tradition usually consists of cozying up on the couch to watch a good movie. Whether I’m indulging in Halloween Town, Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family or The Nightmare Before Christmas (pretty much all children movies), I’m set for the perfect night with a big bowl of popcorn and comfy pjs of course. As far as what I’ll be wearing this season, I’m eager to get my hands on some new mules, just like these ones from Sam Edelman.

Like Lynzi, fall is my favorite time of the year, and I’ll be spending every weekend over the next few months squeezing in my favorite autumn activities. During September, I love to go apple picking with friends and make homemade applesauce, and then in October it’s all things Halloween—from carving pumpkins to scary movie marathons at the drive-in. In November, I savor the last moments of fall by spending time in the meadows at Longwood Gardens admiring the amazing colors of the changing leaves. All of this is made infinitely better, of course, by finally getting to wear my leather jacket again!

As someone who could live in an endless summer at the beach, I admit by August, I do welcome a change of season (with no more humidity and 90 degree days!). And while I’m not a fall festivities gal (give me all the Christmas traditions), two things that autumn brings give me great joy: the opportunity to buy a coat (maybe my favorite piece of clothing to own - and I’ve got my eye on this one this year) and my annual re-watch of Practical Magic with a seasonal cocktail.

The house I grew up in borders a farm that gets very busy in the fall. I worked there as a teen, selling pies and candy apples. Today, my family loves to spend fall nights around the fire in the backyard, watching the hay wagons go by. It is simply magical. I can’t wait to spend time outdoors in the crisp fall air, whether it’s camping, hiking, or strolls around the farm. This season, I’m craving outdoor-ready goods, like this recycled wool throw and the coziest fleece pullover.
Bea (Graphic Designer)
Fall is without a doubt my favorite season. The weather is crisp and the colors of the foliage are fleeting, so I try to be outdoors as much as I can. My boyfriend and I love to hike and camp so getting an Airbnb or a spot to camp in the Catskills is always on the top of my list. There is something about that fresh fall scent that creates a feeling of excitement for the winter to come. Halloween is also my favorite holiday, so I try to watch as many scary movies as I possibly can. Shudder has a wide range of scary movies to choose from, so I cuddle up on the couch with my favorite blanket, a cozy sweater and some yummy homemade soup to create the coziest atmosphere.
Nina (Senior Web Merchandiser)
I love fall. I'm a Libra so I regenerate during this time of year. When the spooky season approaches, I love to watch old scary movies like Rosemary's Baby, The Shining, Psycho, and The Exorcist. Basically anything that Criterion Channel is streaming. I also love to shop and upgrade my closet to prepare for the new season. Anine Bing, Rachel Antonoff, and KOTN have great knits for when you want to enhance your wardrobe.

Being from the South, fall weather is one of the main reasons I moved up North and is something I wait for all year round. To make up for all of the time lost without seasons, I’m adamant about doing all of the cheesy fall traditions each and every year. It was always my dream to have a real bonfire and do my own pumpkin picking, both of which I have done plenty of since moving here and they’re absolutely as fun as they look in the movies! (Bonus points if you do either of them in my favorite fall pjs!) I’ve also since discovered my love of layering and now look forward to accessorizing with a fun coat and a knit beanie all throughout the colder months. This year I’ll be knitting my own with this Wool and the Gang kit and having been scoping out this coat to go with it!
Sam (Marketing Assistant)
I know it’s a bit early but I’m already looking forward to Thanksgiving! Every Thanksgiving holiday my family and I go find a local basketball court and play a game where we get ten free throws to try and get a nice meal. If we make 1/10 we have to go somewhere really inexpensive for dinner, like a drive through. But if we get all 10, we get to eat at the fanciest restaurant we can find. We always have so much fun doing it and rarely care if we end up at the nicest place in town or eating frozen TV dinners. Of course, after these games and a great dinner, it's always perfect to go home and relax in my favorite Printfresh robe!
We sprinkled a little magic on our iconic Bagheera print, giving her a fresh jet black paint job that’s long been requested. Beloved yet fierce, it’s like she’s stalking through the jungle for a midnight snack. This is a pattern for big cat enthusiasts who enjoy the moody vibe of post-sunset lounging.
