Conscious Living

Letter from the Founder - March 2022

This month I’m focused on finding ways to spend more time outside, enjoy fresh produce, and destress from an extremely busy work season. Add in some small fashion upgrades, bright cocktails and a little magical realism, and you have my picks for March! Read on to see what I’m loving.

Eating + Drinking
We love hosting friends for dinner on Saturdays. I love this Tiger Lily cocktail featuring pineapple juice, mezcal, and ginger beer - it has a delightful, citrusy kick to it in the cold months. Strawberry season is also starting, so I love a spinach and strawberry salad complete with toasted almonds and thinly sliced red onion with a simple vinaigrette (tastes extra delicious with balsamic vinegar). My aunt turned me onto this salad combination years ago and I love its simplicity. Here’s a recipe similar to what I make.

Watching
I’m unabashedly obsessed with Good Trouble which is a VERY dramatic show about two sisters who move into a communal living apartment called The Coterie. I also just started watching Dollface - its magical realism is refreshing and so far I’m loving it (especially the cat lady).

Reading
I’m still listening my way through The Rise, and reading The Book of Mythical Beasts and Magical Creatures with my oldest child (I’ll keep you posted - this may inspire some new prints!)

Hobbies + Relaxation
After reading this article, I’ve been feeling nostalgic for photos from my art school days. I just signed up for a subscription for Mootsh and I can’t wait to start having tangible photos again.

The last couple months have been especially busy, so I started going back to community acupuncture and it is such a fantastic treat to unwind. Acupuncture can be costly to go for a one-on-one session, but community acupuncture is a fraction of the price which can make it easier to invest in as a weekly self-care treat.

Wearing
I’ve been walking to work most days, so I decided to invest in some fun sneakers. These and these are also our team’s favorites for comfortable days in the office.

The band options for my Apple watch are pretty dismal, but I want to wear it more, so I spent some time looking for a cute one and landed on this. Also, I’m becoming a belt person…here’s my pick for spring which will make a lot of my existing favorite dresses even more versatile.
