Printfresh Gives

This July Printfresh has selected PAWS as our charity of the month. PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless and at-risk pets. PAWS is the city’s largest rescue partner and provider of affordable, basic veterinary care for pet owners and rescue organizations that cannot otherwise access it. Each year, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals in need, and enables thousands of families to keep their cherished pets. How to Support

One incredible way to support PAWS is through adopting a new best friend. When you adopt from PAWS, you are truly saving a life. Every time an animal finds a home, it opens up a space in our no-kill facilities to save the next homeless pet in need. Additionally, fostering and volunteering are special ways to help get involved. In honor of Pride Month, Printfresh spotlighted The William Way LGBT Community Center. Local to the Philadelphia area, William Way hits close to home, and we were so excited to help support the organization in June. The nonprofit strives to promote a positive self-acceptance by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals; provide health, social, cultural and educational services to the community; and educate the general public about issues of importance to everyone in the community. They seek to engage and support the diverse LGBTQIA+ communities in the greater Philadelphia area through arts & culture, empowerment, and community connections.

How to Support

At the conclusion of June, Printfresh donated a lump sum to William Way, as well as shared their advocacy work on social media. On top of checking out ways to volunteer and get involved with the nonprofit, shoppers can also make a tax deductible donation.

To celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we chose Artists at Play to donate to. Artists at Play tells the storires of the diverse Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Described as small but mighty, they are one of a few non-profit theatre organizations in the Greater Los Angeles area dedicated to creating opportunities for theatremakers of color, with a focus on emerging playwriters, actors, directors, designers and state managers. Artists at Play produces theatrical programming that explores the Asian American experience. In the presentation of these multifaceted stories, they provide resources and a platform for underrepresented theatre artists while serving audiences within the LA community. Through their work locally and nationally, Artists at Play supports new, emerging, and established artists in their goals to challenge and engage theatrical communities and audiences.

How to Support

At the end of May, Printfresh donated to Artists at Play. If you would like to donate as well, your tax-deductible donation is an investment in bringing new Asian American and Pacific Islander narratives to the canon of American theatre and championing those who give voices to our past, present and future. When you donate, your contribution goes towards:

• Producing high-quality World Premiere productions by AAPI playwrights.
• The development and commissioning of new plays by emerging AAPI writers.
• Providing livable artist wages for actors, designers and artists across the board.
• Creating opportunities for the artistic development of underrepresented theatre artists.

In honor of Earth Day, Printfresh selected FABSCRAP as our charity of the month. A charitable, non-profit organization, FABSCRAP recycles and redistributes hundreds of thousands of pounds of waste from the fashion industry in New York City and Philadelphia every year. The textile recycling non-profit works to end commercial textile waste by partnering with designers and brands in the fashion, interiors, and entertainment industries to take their textile waste and keep it out of landfill through recycling or reuse.

How to Support

We previously partnered with FABSCRAP in 2022 when they were our Giving Tuesday charity! Our team has also volunteered at their Philly location multiple times to help sort through recycled fabrics, a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved with a special organization.

For Women’s History Month Printfresh couldn’t have been more thrilled to donate to The Loveland Foundation as our March charity of choice. The Loveland Foundation was established in 2018 by Rachel Cargle in response to her widely successful birthday wish fundraiser, Therapy for Black Women and Girls. Her enthusiastic social media community raised over $250,000, which made it possible for Black women and girls nationally to receive therapy support.

The Loveland Foundation is the official continuation of this effort to bring opportunity and healing to communities of color, and especially to Black women and girls. Through fellowships, residency programs, listening tours, and more, they hope to contribute to both the empowerment and the liberation of the communities they serve.

Printfresh has long been supporters of The Loveland Foundation and the incredible work they do. Not only is this a great organization to support year-round, but especially during Women’s History Month. In February Printfresh chose Philadelphia Urban Creators in honor of Black History Month. Philadelphia Urban Creators fosters community development and fights food insecurity through agriculture, transformative education, and art. Their home base is Life Do Grow, a neighborhood creative commons situated in North Central Philadelphia. The space includes an urban farm, a public park, outdoor classrooms, community spaces, and a co-creation area for several small businesses. They’ve provided jobs and other opportunities for 136 local youths since 2012, and continue to mentor the next generation of environmental leaders and creatives.

 “Since 2010 we have used food, art, and education as tools to nurture resilience and self-determination in North Philadelphia. Now, we are supporting the emergence of a new generation of Urban Creators, organizers, artists, growers, and local businesses who are working to build equity and collective liberation in our communities.”

 We were thrilled to be able to make a donation to Philadelphia Urban Creators to help support the important work they do for our city.
