Sincerely, Amy: Holiday Traditions & Staying Grounded

December is a time of celebration and exploration for me, from sunny escapes to Miami, to peaceful walks along the Jersey Shore. Amidst the holiday hustle, I find solace in mindfulness tricks and tips, along with the joy of the season! See everything else I'm up to this month in my Sincerely, Amy letter.

December is my birthday month so I’m eager to celebrate with friends. I’m hoping to pop down to Miami for a quick trip - I always love to go there and Palm Beach for a quick sunny escape! As much as I enjoy flocking to somewhere warmer, I so value heading to my family’s weekend home at the Jersey Shore come weekends to spend time with the kids while they are on break. There’s nothing better than cold salty air and having the whole beach to yourself for a long walk. I love the foggy misty air. I think it’s the most beautiful time to see the ocean! However, the kids get rambunctious with too much free time so I’m hoping to make some last minute plans to head down to Dallas, Austin, or Houston to explore some cities we haven’t been to before. 

We recently released our J.McLaughlin collaboration and it’s been so wonderful seeing how both our customer bases have loved it so much, it actually sold out on our site but you can still get it on theirs here! I’ve always admired their brand and everything they have built. Their vision for product, stores, merchandising, and customer experience are so strong, and they have always been an inspiration to me. So when Anne, the VP of Marketing there, reached out about a potential collaboration I was overjoyed! After a few conversations, we decided to go with one of their most beloved botanical florals reimagined in our signature style. It turned out beautiful and makes for a great holiday gift for someone who’s a fan of both brands.

Obviously the holiday season can feel so chaotic, so it’s nice to have go-to remedies for staying grounded. Re-embracing a meditation and yoga practice is great when the cold weather restricts my usual long walks. Journaling and playing musical instruments can be nice too - I’m getting back into playing Ukulele and it's been a great way to focus on something satisfying, and keeps my hands off my phone!
